Bamboo Fencing Imparts An Oriental Style

Many people want to have a garden that has a unique feel to it, and one of the ways that this can be achieved is by choosing a fence style, or a fencing material, that many other people do not use. Many people tend to choose a wood fence, or a metal fence, including aluminum fencing and cast iron fencing, simply because these are some of the most common fencing materials and popular materials you can find.

However, an increasing number of people are looking at bamboo as a fencing material to add an oriental touch to the garden, and in a wider way a unique fencing style. This article will look at some of the various bamboo fencing styles, and take a look at some of the various options and considerations that need to be borne in mind before making a final choice of what bamboo fencing type to go for.

Oriental style

One of the first considerations you need to think about is whether or not you want a truly oriental fencing style, because if you choose bamboo you will almost certainly add the oriental or even Japanese fencing style to your exterior. If you do not want the garden to look too oriental you may choose bamboo screen fencing, since this can have the appearance of a normal wood paneled fence except that the bamboo screens will allow some light through since they are made up of closely woven bamboo. This can be a good option for someone who wants a fence that looks unique, but is not the traditional wood paneled fence.

However if you do want to have the true oriental style, in choosing a rolled bamboo fence could be the way to go, since this is a very loose style of fencing which will allow light to pass through. It may look flimsy to some people, and therefore will not look particularly secure or give any element of security, but it can be an excellent way to screen off part of the garden or even use it as a patio screen in order to give some element of privacy.

Natural bamboo fencing

A good choice can be those from Cali bamboo fences, which supplies fences in dimensions of 8 foot high x 8 foot length with a 1" bamboo pole diameter. These are durable, easy to install fences and are suitable for yards, gardens and most exterior locations. Poles are Tonkin reinforced bamboo poles using Sigma7 processing. These are available as a natural bamboo fence, and a mahogany bamboo fence. Also take a look at Grade A bamboo fencing (iron bamboo) which is a durable heavy duty bamboo fence.

A bamboo privacy fence can be one of the main uses of this material in the garden, and it is especially useful when you want to screen off a corner plot, which you may use is a quiet area separate from the rest of the garden. A way to do this is to use a rolled bamboo fence fixed to bamboo posts, though it is also possible to use wooden fencing posts or even vinyl fencing posts as a way of making the fence stronger and more secure. If you would like more light to come through into the fenced off area you can use a loose woven bamboo screen, something which can be supplemented by having a trellis on top of the bamboo fence itself in order to allow even more light to come through.

Custom fencing design

Bamboo fences, when done in the rolled style, usually tend to be around 5 feet in height, though it is possible to have a 3 foot high bamboo fence if you use a custom fencing design. Most rolled wood fences come in precut rolls, which simply need to be attached to fencing posts using fencing staples or galvanized wire, and in this way installation is extremely simple and easy, but does take away some of the flexibility as regards the height of the fence.

By taking a look at some of the bamboo fencing styles now available on today's marketplace your can find something to add a unique fencing design to your garden but without working against the traditional Western design of the place. The good thing about bamboo is that it is a natural material which can fit in with natural elements very easily, including all types of shrubs and plants, and added to this is also the fact it can be fairly low maintenance, since all it needs is to be treated with an anti-rot chemical before it is installed. Bamboo fencing can also be a fairly cheap alternative to other natural fencing materials, such as cedar wood for instance, and due to the fact that it can be bought fairly cheaply it can be replaced without worrying too much about the fencing budget.

I really like the Japanese garden style, and that's why I'm looking at choosing bamboo as my fencing material. Because I love to do things myself I will probably just buy the materials and then do all the fencing on my own. It's really great to have total control over the way your garden looks.

I agree that bamboo has a great appearance, especially if you like the Japanese style garden. You can use bamboo just to section off part of the garden and then use a different fencing material if you want greater security in other parts.

I really like the Orient look and after talking to a fencing contractor I decided that I would install some bamboo fencing. The good thing about bamboo is it is also a fairly cheap fencing material which can be replaced very easily. I think I have made a really good choice and I cannot wait until the job is finished.

Fencing Options - Wood or Vinyl?

By Natalie Aranda
When you are trying to decide on the type of fencing you’d like to purchase, you first assess your budget. Do you have enough money to splurge and go for authenticity? If you do, then wood fencing is a great choice. Most consumers tend to buy this type of fencing because it looks gorgeous. Wood has always been a favorite pick for people who love its elegance. Although wood is great to look at, it has to be maintained. Sanding and painting are often common chores that always require extra work.

Starting to Teach Fencing Tactical Choices

By Walter Green
Designing an instructional program for beginners in fencing has traditionally been based on progression through the simple attacks.
